Bolognese Sauce
1 medium onion finely chopped
6 Roma tomato’s chopped
1 chilli
2 cloves garlic
Mixed herbs
6 cups chicken broth
1lb organic low fat ground beef
1 lb organicic Spicy Italian sausage
1 packet bucatini – Order here
1 tbsp olive oil
1/2 tsp dried Italian herbs
Put water and salt in saucepan for pasta and bring to the boil.
Add olive oil and heat up on medium heat. Add onion and fry till translucent. Add garlic and fry for 1 minute. Add chillis and cook for 2 mins. Turn up the heat and fry the sausage breaking it down as it cooks. Once this starts to brown add the beef and fry till both sausage and beef are cooked. Add tomato and fry until they have “broken down”. Add Italian herbs salt and pepper and slowly stir in the broth. Bring to the boil and turn the heat to medium cooking on low roll. Add the penne to the saucepan. The sauce will cook down by 2/3rds in the time it takes the pasta to cook.
Drain pasta add to bowl with sauce.
