Simple Traditional Chicken and Dumplings Simple dish from leftover chicken dish. This version does not use baking powder.
Simple Traditional Chicken and Dumplings
2 cups all-purpose flour
½ teaspoon salt
1 cup ice water
2-3oz cooked shredded chicken
6 cups of homemade chicken broth or similar egOrganic Chicken Broth – 365
In a large pan bring broth up to low rolling boil. Add the shredded chicken.
While this is happening combine the salt flour and water to make a firm dough. Usually takes just shy of the cup of water to get the right consistency. Add it slowly so it doesn’t get too mushy.
On a board roll out the dough to make the dumplings. Use a pizza cut to cut them into 1 1/2 x 1/2 inch strips
Slowly add these to the boiling broth.
Cook for 25-30 mins until cooked
